Jean Hardy-Pittman chairs the Alpine Rotary Club's Literacy Committee and is the General Director of the 2010 WOW Texas Book Festival. Jean worked as a photojournalist, writer, and magazine and book editor for twenty years. She has owned and operated Front Street Books in Alpine and Marathon, Texas, since 1994. Luticia "Lou" Pauls is the newly elected President of the Alpine Rotary, which she has also served a Secretary, Treasurer and Past President. Lou has been Assistant District Governor for Alpine and Marfa Rotary District 5520. She is Proprietor of The Maverick Inn in Alpine. A native Texan and transplant from the Houston/Galveston area, Lou also serves as Treasurer of the Alpine Chamber of Commerce and is involved in a number of other community activities. ___________________________________________________________________

Donna Greene has lived in Alpine for 14 years. Donna is the Coordinator of Faculty Support and Outdoor Learning at Sul Ross State University. Donna is also the president of the Texas Mountain Trail Writers, a Big-Bend based writer’s group.  Donna Greene can be reached at dgreene@sulross.edu

Julia Green, Associate Manager, Front Street Books, Alpine, with degrees in both Literature and the Biological Sciences. Chris Ruggia and his wife Ellen operate Vast Graphics (www.vastgraphics.com), a graphic design studio in Alpine. Chris also writes and draws an ongoing comic strip (www.jackcomics.com) about the animals of the Big Bend region. Chris designs and executes most of the advertisements and graphic elements for the book festival.

Tom Michael is General Manager of KRTS, the public radio station serving Far West Texas at 93.5 FM and streaming online at www.marfapublicradio.org. A former editor of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Michael has contributed to several other reference works, such as Merriam-Webster's "Encyclopedia of Literature." He also serves on the board of the Alpine Public Library, with a branch in Marathon.
